When you begin understanding SAT, ACT too seeps into the picture. As an aspirant, you would also want to know the details of ACT and to understand which is the best exam that you can opt for. As a High-School student, your next step in your trajectory of academics is to appear for SAT or ACT. Before applying for ACT Exam a student should have the ACT Information.
ACT-American College Testing is also considered as a standardised test that is conducted 6 times a year (September, October, December, February, April, June) to offer admission to undergraduate programmes in various schools across different states. It is conducted by a non-profit organisation called ACT (the same name). The current cost of ACT exam is $34 to $49.50.
Following are the sections of ACT:-
- English
- Math
- Reading
- Science
- Writing (optional)
The importance of ACT score may, however, vary from one school to the other. There are also other factors which are taken into consideration like GPA, letters of recommendation, etc.
The ACT earlier comprised of English, Math, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences. In the last few years, there has been a rise in the number of ACT candidates and there is a growing popularity for ACT.
In the summer of 1959, the ACT program was founded by Ted McCarrel and E.F. Lindquist due to the need for a new test for high school students and it should also serve as an indicator for academic preparations. In November 1959, ACT was administered for the first time to 75,000 students.
