You have the knowledge of a particular topic and yet you do a mistake. This is called error/mistake of ineptitude e..g I had the knowledge that there will be curfew today and yet I stepped out of the house.

  • Mistakes of Incongruence:-

SAT emphasises more on vocabulary section as compared to ACT. Hence, doing extra work on the vocabulary section is must and it should not be ignored.

  1. Not evaluating points in your essays:-

It is essential to highlight the evaluation in your essays and the thesis. This is the most crucial part of the essays.

  1. Adding fancy stuff in your essays:-

Imagination is wonderful. Imagination is essential. But too much of imagination spoils practicality. As mentioned before, evaluation forms the crux of the essays and too much of fancy stuff deters the quality work of your essay.

  1. Not attempting a question with proper knowledge:-

This is surely a mistake of ineptitude. You have studied this particular section and yet you do not attempt the question. Your scores fall due to such mistakes.

  1. Write more and make less mind work:-

You may be the smartest kid, the most intelligent one. However, do not keep points confined in your mental framework. Utilising your answer booklet is the wisest work you can do during your examination.

  1. Do not get stuck on one question:-

This is a very common tendency among the students’ community. If you are not able to work out on the answer to one question, move to next after a stipulated time. Do not spend chunks of your precious time only on one question and then not working on the others which can fetch you scores.

  1. Do not rush through to finish a section:-

Everybody wants to complete their test on time. So do not hurry and rush yourself to the end section. Keep a time capsule for each and every question.

  1. Reading the passage too deeply or too casually:-

These are two extreme ends opted by the students. You need to get the themes and key points of the passage. Hence, reading it carefully but not very deeply is essential. Do not do a shallow reading as well.

  1. Not using text to support your answer:-

The reading section asks for textual support. Hence, avoiding textual reference it is another major error which the students do often.

  1. Spacing the text properly in the essay:-

Do not make your writing look like a block/ chunk of letter piled up together. Keep proper space between the words and sentences. Your presentation is extremely essential.

  1. Skipping the conclusion in essays:-

You need to mention a conclusion and inference in your essay mainly to summarize it.

  1. Calculator mistake:-

This error actually implies the notion of the student that all the questions in Math section permit the use of a calculator. There are both calculator and non-calculator based questions in the Math section.
